The thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held from 17 to 22 May in Baku, Azerbaijan, will introduce a new space designed to promote practical, solution-oriented exchanges on housing and urban development: the Practices Hub. Focused on implementation, the Hub will bring together proven approaches, lessons learned and opportunities for peer-to-peer learning.

In the lead-up to the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), set to take place in Baku from 17 to 22 May 2026, the WUF13 Festival was held across a number of cities throughout Azerbaijan as part of broader efforts to raise public awareness of this landmark international event.

A Ministerial Meeting on the New Urban Agenda will open the programme of the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held from 17 to 22 May 2026 in Baku, Azerbaijan, marking a new feature within the Forum’s agenda. At the midpoint of the New Urban Agenda’s 20-year timeline, the meeting provides a timely opportunity to assess progress, identify challenges, and help shape the next phase of implementation.

On 13 May, Baku State University hosted an information session dedicated to the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) as part of broader efforts to strengthen public awareness of the event. The session brought together members of the university’s academic staff, alongside nearly 400 students from Baku State University and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.

Venue training sessions conducted on 10-11 May under the Volunteer Programme for the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) have concluded successfully, bringing together more than 2,100 volunteers ahead of the event.

Accreditation cards for registered participants attending the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), set to take place in Baku from 17 to 22 May 2026, will be available for collection from 14 May at the Accreditation and Registration Centre.
