Media Tours

As part of WUF13, foreign media representatives will have the unique opportunity to explore Azerbaijan's World Heritage sites, real-world examples how integrate historic urban heritage with modern and high-tech development, as well as case studies for sustainable urban redevelopment.

These organized tours, running on May 20-21, 2026, will not only highlight the country's strides in urban sustainable development but also provide an enriching experience of the significant cultural and modern sights that played considerable role in formation of the world culture.

Grand City Tour – 20 May 2026

In this tour, you will explore Old City (Icherisheher), a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by 12th-century walls and rich in Oriental architecture and history within its atmospheric setting. You will also visit the world-class exhibition and museum complex Heydar Aliyev Centre, designed by the illustrious architect Zaha Hadid. The tour continues through White City Baku, a vibrant and fast-evolving district that reflects cutting-edge urban planning and refined modern architecture, symbolising the remarkable transformation from the former industrial “Black City” into a thriving contemporary hub.

Shamakhi tour– 21 May 2026

In this tour, you will visit the historic Juma Mosque, one of the oldest and most significant mosques in the Caucasus, renowned for its rich history and architectural elegance. The journey continues to Damirchilar Village, a charming settlement known for its centuries-old blacksmithing traditions and authentic rural atmosphere. You will also enjoy a traditional dining experience at Abqora Restaurant, offering local Azerbaijani cuisine. The tour concludes with a visit to Meysari Winery, an attractive winery complex where you can explore Azerbaijani viticulture and taste locally produced wines.
