Committee Chairman Anar Guliyev Participates in Ministers’ Meeting at COP30 on Urbanisation Day

12 november 2025

During the meeting, the importance of the link between urban policy and climate impacts was highlighted.

The discussions revisited key issues emphasized last year when Azerbaijan hosted COP29, demonstrating how multilevel cooperation places crucial matters at the center of the global climate agenda. Two major initiatives - the Multilevel Action Pathway (MAP) and the Baku Sustainability Coalition - were presented as mechanisms to strengthen collaboration among countries, cities, and international platforms. These initiatives were recognized as essential foundations for building stronger connections between climate and urban agendas.

Next steps in this direction are expected to be presented at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku in 2026.

“From Baku to Belém and back to Baku - a chain of collaboration is forming for an inclusive and sustainable future for people, cities, and communities,” Anar Guliyev emphasized.
