WUF13 Volunteer Programme Registers 16,000 Applications

10 december 2025

Preparations for the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) are reaching another milestone - the registration phase for the WUF13 Volunteer Program will close on 10 December 2025, at 23:30. With 16,000 applications submitted, the selection process has now entered the interview phase. Out of all applicants, 2,500 volunteers will be finally selected to join the Forum.

Starting 15 December 2025, candidates who pass the registration and preliminary selection will be invited to interviews, which will be conducted in phases. These interviews will evaluate each applicant’s knowledge, skills, and motivation.

Applicants who successfully complete the interview stage will be enrolled in the training programme, scheduled to take place from January to April 2026. The programme will include general briefing sessions, specific role assignments and preparations for all event venues.

WUF13 volunteers will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the Forum, contributing to guest reception, registration, information services, operations throughout session and exhibition areas, as well as supporting the delivery of cultural programmes.

The WUF13 Volunteer Programme will serve as an inclusive platform for young people to develop leadership skills, foster innovative thinking and gain meaningful international experience, enabling them to make a significant contribution to the country’s presence at this major global event.

The Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held in Baku from 17 to 22 May 2026 under the theme “Housing the world: safe and resilient cities and communities”, will convene strategic discussions on the future of urban development.
